This has a perfectly golden body with high carbonation and good clarity. The aroma is of grapes and bread. It has a very tingly mouthfeel due to the high carbonation. The flavor lacks complexity. It's very champaign-like, with some slight grape flavor and a subtle bitterness. Crisp up front, with a slight malt character on the back of the tongue. The finish is dry, with notes of bitter fruits (grapes, apples). It's a so-so beer. It tastes kind of like an immature belgian ale.

This came in a 750ml bottle (thank you shoreline beverage) with the most hard to remove cork ever. I pulled and tugged until my arm ached, and then the top of the cork broke off, then I could use a corkscrew. Now, to the beer. This is a quite unique biere de garde. It’s like a barley wine wedded with a belgian strong. The appearance is a deep, golden brown, and the aroma is of caramel, toffee and some fruit. Good head, nice lacing. The flavor is exploding with caramel, fruits, pretentious European candies, sweet maltiness, and perhaps some sweetbreads. The finish is smooth and sweet; the beer leaves a sticky feeling on the lips. This is great stuff. I need to go back and buy some more bottles for cellaring.

Fiery amber; slightly hazy. Lots of bitterness. Hop juice style, but a good dose of thick chewy malt. Could be a good one, but it''s young now. $9 US for a 341ml bottle- yikes!

Herbal, soft maltiness/yeastiness; slightly tart finish; earthy, orangey. A step away from greatness.
