At a tasting, thanks, small brown creamy head, opaque black color, aroma of coffee, charred dark bread, chocolate cake and smoke and mud hints, flavor of coffee, chocolate cake and some dark chocolate that gets stronger and bitter, lightish sweetness, quite bitter for a IRS. Nice but not too exciting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Tom L. 2008 bottle. Black with a bit of brown foam. Aroma of roast, coffee, a bit of licorice, soy sauce, some oxidation, dark fruits, smoky note. Slightly oxidized flavor, sweetish, with roast, coffee, a bit of cocoa, sherry note, some dark fruits, salty hint, and a bitterish finish. Full-bodied. Very good and complex. Possibly a bit over-aged, but it aged pretty nicely.

Bouteille 750ml, bottle share. Couleur acajou pâle trouble, mousse beige foncée. Arôme de malt caramélisé, raisin, caramel, levure. Goût de malt caramélisé, oxydé, carton. Carbonatation très élevée, corps moyen.

2012 bottle thanks to Deekyn! Pours hazy orange, medium beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is honey, floral, herbal. Flavor is somewhat sweet, herbal and floral, honey notes, touch of sherry. Medium body, high carbonation. Not really digging this, but perhaps that is the age

Bottle thanks to Hayden. Pours a cloudy ruby with small paperthin off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong blackberry jam, acidic, funk, fresh fruit. Medium mouth, very jammy, light tartness, fruit has held up very well, lemon, funky, really enjoyed this one.

Bottle. Yeasty orange malt, coriander, and orange peel aroma. Cloudy pale yellow with large white head. Sweet orange, coriander/white pepper, wheat malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Body a bit light. Nice.
