huge coffee nose. Sweet malty mouth that is surprisingly light for the abv. Tons of coffee with some brown sugar raisin notes. Almost like a barleywine with a lighter body. Really nice stuff.

Sample at Collaboration Fest on 03/21/2015. The beer pours a clear bronze color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of yeast, hops and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of fruity yeast, earthy hops and caramel malt. The finish is fruity up front with an underlying hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

[2/20/15] Draught at Stone Brewing World in Escondido. Clear deep golden. Hoppy aroma, “green” and piney, with some alcohol and malt. Sweet flavor, malty, boozy, with piney and “green” hops and strong resinous bitterness. Medium-bodied. Kinda harsh.

Draft - Lots of flavorful peppers and some acidic notes. Hazy light gold with a foamy white head. Lots of different flavored chili and a nice acidic tartness. Fantastic and well balanced acidic notes.

light Amber color. Reminds me of dried dog food, noble hops, too sweet, strange aftertaste. Don’t know what type of hops they used but weird stuff.

medium Amber color. Very clean malt profile with mineral character reminiscent of a steam beers. Apricots and apples in te nose. Tricky to figure out. Mouth is very clean, with some buscuit malts but I can’t tell if it is a lager or Ale. Kinda reminds of half steam and half alt. Nice stuff. Low bitterness in finish.

Poured up on tap at Liberty Station where it exhibits dark colored body that supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up all kinds spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and others mixing with chocolate and a bit of a graham cracker like sensation. The taste delivers plenty of the same spicy notes as noted in the nose. It quickly picks up pleasing chocolate with a faint chili pepper sensation off in the background. Another solid offering but the spiciness seems a little too forward.

Poured up on tap at Liberty Station where it exhibits a mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up big prune and sweet raisin mixed with chocolate, some cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg. The taste starts prune and brown sugar sweet and then gets into a pleasing degree of chocolate. Yum. Behind those notes lurks a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg like spiciness. Solid.

Poured up on tap at Liberty Station where it exhibits a dark brown body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet nectar like sweet smelling malts, subtle sweetened pine hops, prunes and very ripe cherry meat. The taste is similar where a pleasing marriage of pine resiny hoppiness is hitched to smooth and nectar sweet malts. Beneath those big notes lurks soft sweet dark fruity esters like prunes and cherries. At times I get a roasty maltiness that creates a slight dryness that helps balance the sweetness a bit. Yummy barelywine.
