About
Yards has been brewing Philly's beer since 1994. We’ve grown from a garage-sized operation in Manayunk all the way up to our current location at 500 Spring Garden Street in Northern Liberties. And we couldn't have done it without your support through the years. Our beers always have and always will be brewed, bottled, kegged, and canned for the hard working people of Philadelphia and beyond.

Bottle at the brother’s stag. Pours clear reddish brown with a foamy off-white head. Simple stuff but pretty tasty. Some toasty bread, fruits, light berries and soft toffee. Light bodied with fine carbonation and somewhat creamy texture. Sweet finish with minimal hop presence. Easy drinking.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma is full of classic Belgian esters with a lot of over ripe stone fruit, pear red apple and lighter bubblegum. Some light citrus including lime. Medium light pepper phenolics. Pours a cloudy, yellow gold with a large, pillow white head that exhibits decent retention as it recedes to a small head that lingers. Medium light lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a light character and grain note. Light citrus notes including lime. Medium light fruit esters with light pepper phenolics. Moderate bitterness and a medium light mineral note to the water. A hint of honey. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, another alright American made classic Belgian saison. Easy drinking but lacking anything special and the fruit esters might be a bit over powering.

This was poured into a pint glass on tap at Batdorf, Annville PA.
The appearance was a nice looking dark red to ruddy brown color with a slim creamy colored head that dissipated within seconds leaving a sligh running lacing softly glazing the sides of the glass.
The smell had the mild English somewhat \"soapy\" malts running in and out under my nose.
The taste was mildly sweet through the malts leaving a constrained palatable aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. It’s definitely mildly carbonated like a good English mild ale should have.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good English Mild ale, definitely a good food beer.

Upfront, flavor is sweet roasted malt with a touch of milk chocolate, raisins, molasses and citrus hops. Medium bodied with roasted malt and coffee notes. Finishes dry and bittersweet with a cloying sticky mouthfeel.
