Amber, clear, slightly off fairly dense frothy white head
Aroma of sweet caramel, honeycomb centre of a crunchie, sweet pale toffee, bit buttery sweet
Taste of caramel, some puff candy, scorched sugars, dab of caramelised orange, rather muddled, bitter bitter dry hops
Palate - medium body. Sweet malt and bitter dry hops. Finsh - Overlong bitter linger, dry, almost a paracetamol bitterness with some lingering malt
Overall - Only finished 1/2 of the pint - the other Knops beers are considerably better than this

Clear, dark amber beer. Malt and strong caramel in the aroma. Taste is also a malt/caramel mix and a toasty edge, but not as strong as I expected from the flavour. It’s almost refreshing though a touch "thin" for want of a better word. Quite drinkable though.

Lively golden beer with a frothy head. Aroma is quite hoppy and the flavour is a mild, slightly underwhelming honey. Pleasant enough but nothing spectacular.

Bottle. Red dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is yeast, coffee, toasted malt, fruit. Flavour is yeast, coffee, hop, roasted malt, fruit. Medium body. OK beer.

Bottle at home in London. Pours lightly hazy, yellow-gold with a fine, white foam head. Some bready malts in the nose with a bit of ham. Medium sweet flavor with a lot of smoked ham, some bread, touches of honey, very mellow leafy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish with some more ham, lightly toasted bread and smokey malts, faint cereal, low bitterness. This kind of tastes like a rauchbier (honestly!) and in that regard it is actually pretty good. I’m really not sure what’s going on. But it’s pretty alright. (3.5)

Bottle shared at the Night of Garbage. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. The nose has some caramel, bread and paper. Light to medium sweet flavor with grainy and doughy bread, faint metal. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with grainy bread, light dirty hay, some citrus. Meh. (2.8)

Amber, some haze, thin frothy white head, minimal lacing
Aroma - pale sweet malts, light hay, soft grassy hops, light citrus, not very hoppy
Taste - pale sweet malts, hay malts, soft grassy hop. bit of citrus zest, not that hoppy, good balance between malt and hops though, generally subtle and easy drinking
Palate - soft carb, medium body. Finish as main flavour with short light zesty linger.
Overall - I agree that it has been classified as a Golden Ale, it’s not hoppy enough to be a true IPA, but it’s pleasant subtle beer. I think it’s rather underated here.

Bottle 330ml.Clear dark black brown colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate and coffee dusty. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, sweet malt, coffee with sugar. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120622]

A initial sour bitterness hides a deep but well textured ale with an excellent, slightly hopped nose.
