(Bottle 33 cl) Dark golden with a fine, insisting head. Malty, fruity nose, with a delicate, slightly caramelish feel to the flavours. Good solid, hoppy finish. Nice one. But calling this ale a "Pils" is a freakin’ joke - but brewer John insists. "Beer enthusiasts are not to decide the names for my beers", he once told me...Well, fair enough then. 260801

(Bottle 33 cl) My first attempt with this beer ended disastrous. It exploded in my beer closet while I was away holidaying, soaking the wall of my downstairs neighbour. Well, he was Australian and took no offence when I explained that the brown, sticky fluid was just beer. Wall had to be painted though
Dark brown with a tan head and a heavy carbonation. Weird, acidic off-flavours making this one taste a bit like a mushroom-stew boiled in gueuze. It’s really hit or miss with Refsvindinge, their batches differ so much in quality but they seem to bottle just about everything. 051200

(Bottle 33 cl) For once a Pilsener that is different from the majority. Fully golden with a fine head. The beer has this indefinable Refsvindinge house character - whatever that is. Some nutty notes, and then not really. Soft mouthfeel, slightly malty sweetness balanced with some good hops. A fine pilsener. 180200

Bottle. Soapy aroma with a hint of hops. Copper colour, small, unstable white head. Flavour is quite sweet, almost sugary. There is some hops, but they seem to give a perfumy flavour which I do not care for. Low carbonation.

Bottle. Farty aroma, hint of smoke. Brown colour, hint of red. The head is small but quite stable. Watery mouthfeel and flavour. Flavour is very mild, not much malt and very little hops.

An amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty. While the flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel - and something else that I can put a name on, but gives the beer a dryness - I wonder if this is the cotton? It is NOT the same as AZ Ale no. 16, since the declaration says cotton has been added.

A brown beer with almost no head. The aroma is sweet and fruity. The taste is very smooth and sweet of a very nice maltblend. One of the greatest danish beers.

(Bottle 33 cl) Smoked beers used to be rather common in Denmark but are now extremely rare. This is one of very few remaining. Pitch black colour, almost opaque. Almost flat - the CO2 has gone walkabout or was (more likely) never there. Very, very smoky flavours. A taste of tar and wood and ropes... 090200

(Bottle 33 cl) In spite of being only a light pilsener this almost has the body and the flavour of a standard pilsener. Dark golden, almost no head and the typical flat Refsvindinge carbonation. Pronounced hoppiness. Not bad for its type. 220999

(Bottle 33 cl) Considering it’s name ("White Gold") this is far from white. Actually it’s unusually dark golden for a lager - almost amber. Some head, that collapses in a sec though. Typical low carbonation for Refsvindinge. Very malty, with a sweetish edge. Full body and a rather subdued bitterness. Nice alright and certainly not like any other Danish strong lager. 250699
