12oz can pours a dark amber, basically brown with some sticky, frothy white head. Nose has orange peel, black tea, herbs, pine, quite a bit of lavender. Flavor is super tannic, heavy black tea, heavy pine and herbs, some honey comb, orange. Full bodied, sticky and bitter. Old school, which by itself isn't a bad thing, but it's not particularly well done.

Pint draft pour at Charleston Beer Works. Poured a clear amber color with an ever-so-slightly off-white head. Aroma was sweet malt notes. This had a decent amount of light grain, light earthy hops in there too. Flavor was crisp, with some sweetness on the finish. Pretty tasty, not cloyingly sweet like some Oktoberfest beers can come across.

Lovely pale ale from COAST, almost an IPA but not quite, citric and hoppy but with a delicious grainy malt soul. Starts semisweet and juicy, bright tropical and citric hops leading into a solid malt middle, earthy and biscuity and mildly sweet, then rolling into an orange marmalade hop finish and a piney fade. Awesome beer.

Can, thanks to Misterburd. Hazy dark orange with small foamy light beige head, faint citrus aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter orange peel taste, somewhat thick body, medium bitter finish. Decent IPA.

12 ounce can into snifter, canned on 3/15/2016. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a small dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted oats, dark bread, brown sugar, molasses, light smoke/char, herbal, pine, light pepper, slight licorice/dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted oats, dark bread, brown sugar, molasses, light smoke/char, herbal, pine, light pepper, slight licorice/dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Moderate roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted oats, dark bread, brown sugar, molasses, smoke, char, herbal, pine, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from roast/hop bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a great Russian imperial stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

That’ll be me 20K then @ ChrisO’s. Thanks to Padraig. Opaque dark brown beer, good bubbly tan head. Lactose nose. Palate is airy, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, touch of dark malt creamy sweetness. Some lactose carries over from the nose. Spicy bubblegum ester. Spicy dark fruits. Light semi dry finish. Spicy dark malt linger and some unwelcome emulsion paint. Much to like but there are some off things here as well.

16 oz can courtesy of a friend, thanks Ben! Batch 465 canned on 5/10/2016. Poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Hazy but not quite murky orange with a finger of beige head. Aromas of toasty notes, biscuit, citrus, malt. Tastes of biscuit, floral notes, citrus, toasty notes. Medium body with a dry finish. On the malty/biscuity side of IPAs.
