Good looking appearance with a deep, dark brown body to a shiny black surface. Smell of dark chocolate malts, slightly roasted. Rounded taste character of choco-caramel malts. Bittersweet tail. Well made and easy to drink. Cask, half at Fat Cat, Sheffield 1 Oct 10.

Cask, handpump at the Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks 09-11-09 Pours black with a hardly a head except maybe a small tan rim of bubbles. Nutty, bitter and roasty, burnt toast and nicely bitter at end. It’s fine. A7 A3 F7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Cask. Rich amber beer with a cream colored head. caramel aroma. Malt and light hay flavor with light fruitiness. lighter bodied. Malt lingers with light caramel and light fruit.

Cask @ Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield. Brown with a creamy, small head. Quite malty and bitter. Caramel and toffee. nice taste.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern on 11th August 2009. Pale gold with a small head that dissipated close to instantly in the glass. Some sweaty yeatiness of initial aroma before a strong hop kick. Quite dry, bitter and grassy but slight hints of metallacity and citrus notes too. Watery texture and on flat side.

Cask at the Pembury Tavern on 11th August 2009. Brownish amber with short lived white head that soon goes. Toasted malt notes in initial kick then hops become more abundant leading to quite a bitter finish on a smooth mouthfeel.

Cask (handpump) @ Fat Cat, Sheffield, England. @ [ RBESG 09 ]Clear medium brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dusty, earth. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask, handpump at FFTMC, Oxford, 13-11-08 Pours mid brown, fruity beer with a decent enough tang. Doesnt really have anything about it which makes it stand out and so the fact that it was served a little too warm for my liking (no fault of the brewery obviously) has already made this a rather forgetable beer. A6 A3 F6 P3 OV11 2.9
