Bottle at Svea, Malmö, 4% ABV
Dark red-amber color; rocky head. Aroma of caramel and ripe apples. Dark caramel flavor, leading to some roasted malt and nutty bitterness later (too much for me); it’s quite dry. Simple.

Bottle. Pours an almost black color with a small brown head. Aroma of malt raisins, dark fruit and oak. Also some weak aroma of chocolate. Has a slightly roasted malty oak flavor with lots of dark fruit and chocolate. Also a little vinous hints. Warming roasted malty finish with hints of dark fruit.

Dark orangish red color wth a minimal tan head. Sweet malty caramel aroma. Full bodied and creamy that goes down pretty smooth. A little too sweet for my taste but a decent barley wine. I would probably drink this one again.

First rating75 bottle at Bishops Arms, V Hamng, Göteborg Bottled 2006Shared with ekstedt, Marsiblursi and a non-ratebeer friend.Pitch black color, small brown head. Acidic, malty, raissin, oak and wood scent. Also alochol. Sweet malt, oak, raissin and acidic taste. Oak and roasted aftertaste. Some smoke in the taste. Feels dry once the acidic main part of teh taste settles a bit. Not worth the €55 we paid for it. Might be too oxidized or perhaps in infection? Did not deliver what I had expected.7/4/6/4/13=3.4RerateShared bottle at Haket on November 13, 2010, during SÖ 25 year anniversaryBlack color, brown head. Sweet, licorice, chocolate scent. Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A dark amber beer with a thin rim of tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and lesser notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with alcohol tickling the tongue and the palate combined with strong notes of caramel. A good warming beer on a cold winter night.

2008-12-02, Gravity dispense at Pig’s Ear Festival 2008, London, 6-4-5-2-10
Hazy amber color. Strong cinnamon aroma (I don’t love cinnamon anymore, a reaction to living for some years in the Nordic, but it’s not bad). The flavor instead is dry, thin, with harsh cinnamon, poor. Not interesting.

Amber color. Strange Ale, quite simple, dry mouthfeel, light caramel flavor, and some manure aroma and flavor.
