Description
When the young Viennese banker Franz Schaup started brewing beer in 1858, he did not expect his small brewery to develop into one of the most successful breweries in Austria over the years.
In the meantime, the Zipf brewery near the Attersee has a proud 13 beers and 3 types of hops, the refreshment with hop lemonade for adults, to their range. A total of 170 employees work directly at the location in Zipf. They are the ones who ensure that everything runs smoothly every day and are responsible for a large part of the success of the Zipfer brand.
Despite the numerous technical innovations and a merger with Brau Union Österreich AG in 1970, the careful use of resources and brewing with natural hops were always in the foreground.

Bottle. Hazy golden with a large white head. Citrus, light banana, spices, perfume and candy. Quite strange taste indeed. Drinkable.

Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a dense white head. The aroma has strong notes of wheat and banana as well as medium notes of cloves. The flavor is very sweet with notes of wheat, cloves, and banana, leading to a dry wheaty finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle. It’s a clear, almost golden beer, the head is finger thick and white. Grainy aroma with some fruity notes, slightly unpleasant. The flavor is grainy and dry, with a hoppyness not giving much bitterness. Thin, watery and papery on the palate. A super-boring one, low on aroma and flavor, and not so good either. 100213

Originally rated November 2008. Best before 02-2009. This herb wheat beer poured a cloudy golden-beige colour with a big white frothy head, good retention, some little separate lace spots and active carbonation. Very nice smooth aromas of bananas, wheat and yes, oat soap. The one that comes in the push bottle, that makes your hands smelling so nice. I must say that I was quite surprised when I saw the twist-off cap on this one. The palate is quite smooth, and kind of watery, making this one quite refreshing. I can detect a little bubblegum in the aftertaste, but have a hard time finding the spices in the rest of the taste. Orange, wheat, but very well-blended. Overall, a nice weizen that is really refreshing (but was expecting more from the spices).

(Canned) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of bread, grain, hay and grass. Malty taste with grain, dough, bread and a hint of grass. Not much bitterness around. Thin body, fairly sweet with a touch of honey. A bit like a soft drink with malt taste. Fairly boring.
