Cask at St. Jude’s, Ipswich, in the run up to Christmas 2016. Poured almost black with a small off white head. Aroma of cinnamon, chocolate, Christmas fruit and spice, with a hint of liquorice. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium plus body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Very enjoyable, and so good I had another, and another...

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2010. Black with ruby edges, disappearing beige head. Not the world’s greatest stout. It’s solid good roastiness. OK. Bit of roasted bit. Developed as it went on.

Bottle that I picked up at a small deli’ in Ipswich, consumed 01-11-09 Pours very, very darkest brown peeling off to a nice lighter chocolate at the edges. I get like a toffee swirl ice cream on the nose, its actually quite creamy. Taste is ice creamy, but also a little roasty. There is a nice cherriness, its a little fruity. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.6
