Gravity cask at St Judes Brewery Tavern. Chestnut brown, clear with the tiniest ring of white head. Nutty and sugary aroma. Stale bread. Odd. Taste: this is the Sweetest beer I have ever had in my entire life. Pure sugar. Like dissolving a half kilo of muscovado sugar in boling water and drinking it. Oily body, no carbonation. No idea what the fuck that was about bit wasn't completely unpleasant.

Bottle bought from the brewery, historic rating. The brewer never mastered the bottling process - they were often infected - which is why he now sticks to cask. This one looked fine but was earthy, stewy and skunky. Over carbonated too. Shame as something named after the fine town of Ipswich should have been at least a 2.6 :)
