Description
Crux is a crossroads, an intersection, the heart of something. In brewing it's that pivotal point where fermentation happens and anticipation mounts.
We’re Crux Fermentation Project— housed in a former AAMCO Transmission Plant and inspired by our location right in the heart of Bend, Oregon. Our brewery is a one-of-a-kind, built for non-traditional brewing methods like decoction mashing, open fermentation and barrel aging, and for leveraging the limitless possibilities that wild yeast strains and experimental hops present.

Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: mahogany colored with some transparent to lighter orangey tones closer to the sides of the glass, one and a half fingers of white foamy head dissipated to leave some light lace
Aroma: earthy to grassy tones, dark fruits, soured red apples, light vinegar, vinous (maybe more red wine-like) and woody/barrel character
Flavor: moderately funky to earthy sweet with the tart and sour tastes accompanying some dark fruity sweetness; mild barrel to earthy and funky finish
Texture: medium bodied, great as a sipper, some smoothness but active tart harshness on the tongue
Overall: I liked this for me and as far as I know pretty good for the style.

Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: dark amber/brown/mahogany colored with a finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head which took it's time to dissipate. Once it did, mild lace met the rim of the beer
Aroma: low amount of roasted malt, light tones of bourbon barrel, candy-like dark fruits, slight vinegar, green apples
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas to a sour to sweet to tart to roasty and earthy conglomeration; mild finish of the bourbon barrel, dark fruits and earthy vibes
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper! Some smoothness but also a lot of dryness
Overall: as far as I know this is very good for this style and for me but I really need a lot of water after this because it's as dry as it is.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: rustic orange/copper color with a two finger white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some nice lace
Aroma: melon, piney, lemon and raspberry/blueberry-ish hoppy tones with a light clean caramel/toffee malt backbone
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a nice crisp bittersweet quality, finishes piney and berry-like with the malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, some kind of sessionability to this, light smoothness but some hop abrasion too
Overall: nicely done West coast styled IPA I wouldn't mind downing again.

12 oz can. Aroma is grassy, vaguely floral. Pours hazy pale yellow with a one finger white head with excellent retention. Taste is lightly sweet, finishing very dry. Crisp, clean, and refreshing.

Almost clear light coloured body with medium head. Hop and ricey aroma. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't taste like a hopped sake. Pleasant body
