Bottle, The One Under, St Andrews. Amber pour with a meek white head. Uninspiring malt, grain and nut nose. Similar flavour with the hops not being allowed to shine and a muted bitterness. Drinkable but dull. The Old Course deserves a better beer frankly.

Cask at Guildford Arms. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Light lacing. Mild aroma of straw, tropical fruit and shortbread. Biscuit and apricot flavour with a faint peppery spice. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Light carbonation prickle. A pleasant but unspectacular Golden Ale.

Dark, clear red beer with an aroma combining malt, hop, caramel and fruit. The flavour has an initial sweet fruity hit. There’s almost a smokiness to the flavour but once the sweetness subsides the main thing is the malt. On the tongue the finish is tangy and hoppy. Quite an interesting mix of flavours and they manage to remain distinct. Very nice.

Thanks to Seanyfo for this bottle. Light yellow colour with a huge and stable head. Grainy fresh smell. The beer starts very bitter-hop intense. The hop bitterness dominates the mainpart - some malt and grain in the background. The beer is fullbodied, nicely bitter-intense. The aftertaste is long, very intense-bitter and a slightly bit sweet. --> interesting, very bitter and dry lager! 12/10/9/9

Clear red beer with a thin beige head. Sour malt aroma. Flavour initially seemed a touch watery but it comes into it’s own a bit after a mouthful or two. The hops come through more in the aftertaste and by the halfway mark I was rather enjoying it.
