Description
In 1810 the Eden Estuary was offering its crystal clear waters to the legendary Haig brothers, helping them distil and lay down some of St Andrews' finest whiskies. Before them this same site hosted the Seggie Brewery, known for their strong connections with local farmers and agricultural workers
In 2012, Eden Mill resurrected this fine brewing and spirits tradition with our own take on Scottish craft brewing and distilling. Eden Mill were Scotland's first single site brewery and distillery – we benefit from the best of local water sources, regionally grown barley and a dynamic, international team with some of the best education and experience the world can offer. Our distillers are at the forefront of experimental wood ageing and distillation methods to bring out more of the outstanding flavours found in our products.
We know our beer, gin and whisky will stand the test of time and do the tradition of St Andrews brewing and distilling proud.

Cask at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear, bright gold with a filmy, white cap. The aroma holds hay, biscuits and faint, dry lemon. Light sweet flavor with further biscuity pale malts, slight butter, straw, light rindy citrus. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mild sweetness to finish, more doughy biscuits, light bitter straw and dry lemon. Basic golden ale.

Cask at Six D Abz. It pours near black with a small bubbly tan head. The nose is soft roasty, earthy, toast, salted caramel, treacle and liquorice. The taste is bitter-sweet, cocoa, earth, light spice, cola, roasty, toast, umami, aniseed and treacle with a soft finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A solid porter.

Quite an intense coffee and roast malt aroma. That also comes through in the flavour together with light smoke, although less intensively. Body is a little thin.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours clear brown with no head. Aromas of alcohol and leather, toffee, dark fruit and sherbet. Taste is sweet, bit too sweet, and woody. Then finishes bitter. OK, bit cloying.
