500ml bottle, from barrel #4. Poured a slightly pale, yellow color with a very wispy white head. Aroma is acidic, some bitter peach skins. Aroma is light tart peach juices, some light rice wine vinegar tartness on the finish. Carbonation is light. Very happily surprised with this one.

Rating #4900!!! First off - cheers to Lost Rhino (or whoever else did it) to create this beer so that I didn’t have to (the first rater). Sour Barrel 8 Bottle Clear copper, orange and golden tinted body, all with a relatively thinnish, fast-dying tan head, about a centimetre tall. Amazing aroma of sour peaches, apples, yeast, brett, cranberries, raspberries, gueuze and somehow even more sour notes. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Super souring and pungent peach, apple, pear, raspberry and brett notes with a lot of pungent yeast on the finish, all with perhaps a bit of dryness from oak. Aftertaste shows a light floral note, but the majority of the flavour rises from sweetness from the fruit - very sweet, but not cloying and a ton of sour notes ranging from brett to just pure raspberry and peaches. Overall, easily one of the best sours I’ve had in a long long time, and as one of my favourite styles, that is something to say. The first bit of flavour is just like a real gueuze from the Belgian countryside that you’d be surprised is produced in Virginia. A great beer that should be sampled by anyone possible, and even with it’s large price tag (I get it - it’s not cheap to produce), I plan on buying a few of these - perhaps six and storing them in my cellar alongside some Gueuze from 1998. I sampled this 37,5 cL split bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-November-2014 for US$15,99 sampled at home in Washington on 09-February-2015 as my Rating #4900 - easily a good choice for the occasion!
