Draft at Churchkey. Clear golden color, white edge head. Nice aroma of sourdough bread. Taste has decent malt, not very bitter, decent body. Plain but very drinkable.

Draft at Brewery. Tasting notes got all screwed up on my way home, so attempting to be as accurate as possible. Beer poured a clear medium-dark golden color with a white head. Aroma was hoppy, well crafted, with a nice malts backing. Crisp taste, refreshing, enjoyable.

Draft at the Lost Rhino Brewery. Not being a huge pilsner fan, I went into this one cautiously. The beer poured a beautiful golden color with a solid, medium sized white head. Aroma is crisp, biscuit malts, moderate hops. Flavor is solid balance of malts and hops. Really good yeast character. Polished off nearly an entire growler of this one. Solid.

Bottle. Citrusy hop aroma, not detecting malt. Amber color with a foamy off-white head. It laced after awhile. A bit thin bodied. Assertive carbonation. It’s hoppy. Arguably floral, don’t know what happened to the citrus. There is malt in the background, but on through the finish this is about hop. Hoppier than not a few IPAs.

Cloudy golden color, very thin head, nice lacing. Syrup and doughy aroma, but very floral hoppy flavor. Superb quality hops, and not so bitter. Soapy perfume on the palate. Quite a nice pale ale.

An orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet hoppy combined with notes of flowers and hints of grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of hops ans grapefruit.

From a growler at Lost Rhino Brewing Co. Poured a relatively clear golden orange color with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy, floral notes - a touch of earth. Flavor is caramel malts, hops, hops, tasty. Bitterness is spot on, with a nice citrus character to it. I have been so stoked to see that this one has finally returned to Ashburn and a real Virginia brewery.

Paid $1.45 for a 12-oz single. Bottle. Light amber with a small white head. Amazingly sweet hoppy aroma, full of grapefruit and tropical flowers. Very lovely flavor up front, the sweet tanginess turns lighter and thinner as the beer goes down, almost tasting like some sort of greenish berry. Definitely a tasty beer, but I’m surprised it’s rated so high, as I have had many pale ales better than this (though this is good).
