Description
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913, but like most breweries of the time, it went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and has built it into one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.

Very pale purple, and bright. Tart, plummy, with vanilla accents. Thin and light. Not much happening here.

Dark amber, bright. Boozy, a mess, lightish bitterness, sticky amber malts.

Bright gold. Moderate bitterness, some burnt electrical phenols, not a lot but the lightness of malt character detracts from the overall balance.

Golden amber, thin head. Toasty, malt base has complexity but not depth. And the hops are not doing much.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: clear copper color with a finger and a half of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: big piney, big citrusy and big floral hops boldly blending with some caramel/toffee malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together in a nice bittersweet sort of way, finishes piney & citrusy
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper, light smoothness but also good hop aggression
Overall: big bold West coast styled DIPA worthy of coming back to.

Bottle to becher glass.
Appearance: amber/copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: big piney hop tones with an ample amount of citrusy hops, caramel/toffee malts sliding in underneath for a nice blend
Flavor: pretty much mirrors the aromas in a bittersweet manner; finishes very piney and citrusy
Texture: medium bodied, somewhat sessionable, some smoothness and some hop aggression but not offensive
Overall: nicely done West coast styled IPA I would have again.

16 oz can shared by tfontana, thank you Tom. The aroma has soft bread and honey. Weak non-descriptive fruit. Soft finish without a bitterness. Clean.

Can (7/24/24) pour from Total Wine & More, West Hollywood. Deeply hazy, golden yellow with thin cap of head, fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is sweet malt, vague fruit. Taste is sweet/tart fruit balanced with sweet malt. Smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Sessionable blonde.
