Description
Mission Brewery was originally established in 1913, but like most breweries of the time, it went out of business during the first year of Prohibition. In 2007, Dan Selis, an avid homebrewer, re-established the brand and has built it into one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours hazy gold with a decent white head. Aroma is mostly guava for me. Could be a touch of citrus pine. Very pleasant. Med body. Fairly dry. Flavor is strongly guava with some mildly roasty malt and citrus. This guava isn't the ripe pink sweet stuff. This guava has a certain pleasing bitterness. Not that there's guava fruit in this, just that that is how I perceive the flavors. Nice beer! West Coast bitterness.

Bottle from CAVE Beer Point at home. Opaque black pour with very thin tan head. Aroma is bitter dark chocolate, leather, plum, nice. Taste is similar, with more powdered chocolate and dark fruit. Smooth velvety palate without being too rich or too chalky. Very good.

Volle body.

Pour is a thick black sludge with a large tan head. Aroma is a real nice roasted malt with a huge bitter bakers chocolate. Flavor is more bakers chocolate and a large roast char malt. A bit of warming alcohol is there as well. Finish leaves a nice roasty almost burnt malt on the tongue. this was a outstanding Impy stout that did not need anything added or barrel aged. This is all about the roasted malt

Bottle. Amber color. Oily hops and ripe tropical fruit in the aroma. Malty sweetish but especially herbal oily hopbitter flavor. Some Malty sweetness and fruity notes pushed back by the alcohol and hops. Nice though Not perfect.

Tap at the brewery tasting room. Pours clear gold with a white head. Aroma is white grape and earth. Near med body. Flavor is white grape, earth and for me a very light suggestion of Brett. Dryish; earthy; bitter. Excellent

Tap at the brewery tasting room. Pours hazy dark gold with a white head. Juicy in a citrus mixed with fruit way. Juicily undry. Hoppy. Bitter, but not harshly so. Good flavor.
