Bottle. Really enjoyed this beer. Didn’t think it was really that sweet. Actually had a nice balanced taste. Recommend this one.

Bottle. Amber with a pink tint. Slight berry smell with a more pronouced malty aroma. Taste was slight sweet but not unpleasant, berry, malt, only minimum hops. Not bad.

Can at Alus Celle, Riga. Chili beer without chili hotness, subtle chili in the aroma. Rather light and modest.

Notes from 1/9/2009. 1.99/5 rDev -45.6% look: 3 - smell: 1.5 - taste: 2.5 - feel: 1.5 - overall: 1.5 Not quite within four months of date notched, but here we go. Flat crack of the cap. Murky honey brown pour. An inch of off-white head with no retention. Dregs sitting tight at the bottom of the bottle. Incredibly rich. Riesen Chocolate Caramels, rumcake, dates macerating in stiff brandy. Sloppy. Way too much. It drinks a little better. Lots of toffee & bread pudding. A ton of residual sugars. Mild tangy hop bite. Maybe a little bitterness from the perceived clove. Some smoke. Significant alcohol burn & brown sugar on the finish. Slippery mouthfeel. Downright thin & greasy. Carbonation gives an effort. I had a two of these. I guess I was just in a ugly mood. Why did I drink two of these?!

Notes from 1/22/2009 Summer layover. Notches of 0(0-3) & 4(0-9) along the side. Poured into a rounded pint glass. Pasty yellowed-tan head. Even whitewash lace. Brown on black dulled body. Sharp residuals kicking my nose in with track spikes. I can't get near it. Almond liqueur, an itch of smoke, plenty of alcohol, & just really flagrant overall. Charred Hazelnut & maple upfront, with & an ugly slap of alcohol riding hard down the middle. A 2 second shot of Lysol to the mouth comes to mind. A mild but lingering nut shell bitterness tries to ease you out of that wincing pain. Strong carbonation works to my benefit, as does the lighter then expected body. This stuff sticks with you like ugly homebrew.
