A deep reddish brown ale with a thin off white head. In mouth, a clean nutty sweet aroma. In mouth, a sweetish malt with light cinnamon and some boiled veggie notes. Heavy, oily and a bit cloying. On tap at RFD, Jan. 6 2009.

Clear caramel brown body, thin buff head. Buttery oak nose, musty with syrupy, tart malts and some sourness. Oaky body, earthy and buttery, with syrupy, sweet caramels. Strange palate, watery yet rough and unrefined. I feel no love, much less like.

Pour is a very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a little smoky, earthy and bourbon. Flavor is a bit of dark fruit with some brown sugar and if you let it roll over the tounge enough times the barrel flavors do come out. It is what it advertises and its a oaked out dopple.

courtesy of gillard. Pours copper with beige head. Aroma of oak without the usual Tommy Knocker maple flavors. Taste is fruity (banana bread) with spices (almost peppery) and oak. Mouthfeel and after taste have this lingering spiciness.
