About
Somewhere out in Colorado, in the year nineteen hundred and ninety-five, two guys named Dave and Bill learned that while they loved gulping down good beer, they weren’t yet old enough to buy it. They figured an answer to their quandary would appear if they drank enough and listened to enough thinking music, also known as Ska. On the second Skaturday of Skatember it hit them. If they brewed their own beer they’d have all the beer they could ever want. And while they were at it, why not brew the most magnificent suds ever quaffed in their neck of the woods…or any other neck for that matter.

can. hazy yellow color wi9th a big white head that recedes at a moderate pace. The aroma is weak with some indistinct fruit. The flavor comes across as weak and watered down citrus. The palate is thin and watery. finishes short. Overall: Something of a letdown. .

500 ml bottle. My bottle labeled as Skamalgam Barrel-aged Beers No.3 . Not sure is this is a new beer and there is Skamalgam No1 and No 2. I'll leave that detail to the Colorado admin. Brown pour with a quickly vanishing head. Aroma is mildly tart with sour cherries and a touch of vanilla. The taste is sour/tart with cherries, grains, raisins and some oak. The flavor picks up in sour intensity on the finish and lingers. Palate is light with soft and fine carbonation. I paired this with some gorgonzola cheese, which was not the best pairing, but the cheese did cut down on the lingering sour acidity. Overall: reminds me a bit of the Flemish reds, not a bad effort for a bunch of gringo caballeros.

Can 35,5 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Distinct grapefruit aroma. Medium body, a clean dry grapefruitness. No real tartness or bitterness. I bet the grapefruit flavor is artificially made - the can reveals nothing. 140421

Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth Pre-GBBF 2017 tasting - London. Cheers! Pours deep brown with a foamy, khaki head. The nose holds light roast, soft chocolate, earth, brown bread. Medium sweet flavour with light metal notes, earth, leathery berries. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish, lightly sticky, some cocoa, milk chocolate too. Nice overall.
