Description
In 1996 Pabst, once one of the largest breweries in the United States closed down its production in Milwaukee after 152 years. Since then Pabst’s legacy brands like Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR), Old Milwaukee, Lone Star, Rainier, Stroh’s, Old Style and Schlitz are brewed under contract by third parties. For nearly two decades, MillerCoors brews and distributes all of Pabst's beers under an agreement. In 2019, it has entered with City Brewing Company into a 20-year contract production agreement until 2040. Pabst will gradually transfer from 2021 until 2024 its production from MillerCoors to City Brewing.

33 cl bottle (4,7%) @ home, BBE 15.12.2014
Aroma is light and somewhat musty with hay, corn and hints of boiled vegetables. Flavour is also rather light with some boiled vegetables and slight malt notes. Perhaps also some butter. Dry and slightly leathery finish. Very watery and straightforward.

Gets a bit better as ice cold in sauna; some cider-like green apple notes come through and the unpleasant flavours step aside. Grade in sauna: 1.5.

355ml bottle [4.6% abv]. Clear, pale golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Strawy, grainy, corny aroma. Taste is monotonous, close to water, slightly grainy and bitter, completely without rough edges, filtered to absolute (main-)streamline. Nevertheless not fully without taste. America has gone a long way since 1893...

Reviewed from notes. She pours a nice light yellow color and leaves the same colored body with a small white head that quickly diminishes to barely nothing, no lacing. The smell is of faint grains, light sweet corn syrup, no hops. The taste is basically sweet through previously mentioned flavors. On the palate, she sits about a light sort of body and comes across as fairly sessionable, also has a watery sweet aftertaste and finish. Overall, I think its good for the style, decent to me, however, I admit I tend to have this one in the summer backyard BBQ, nothing like pourin’ it over the pig roastin’ over the firepit.

Pleasantly surprised, lightweight, but very smooth, crisp and clean. Nice fluffy head on pale golden body. Not overly sweet, although adjunct rains are present in aroma and taste. Lager yes, but a head above the rest of the US macro brews.

Poured out with a clear and golden color. It was topped with about two fingers of white head which immediately set down to a small lacing. There is some grainy hops aroma present, but it’s very gentle. The beginning was somewhat bitter-sweet (hard to pinpoint really), followed by a pleasant and light body. It finished with a just a slight bitterness.

Draught at Craft Beer Market, Vancouver
Pale blond color. Smelly: armpit, corn, ethilic alcohol, cleaning product. Dry, weak, with all the corn and cereals flavor you’ll ever want in a beer. Low bitterness.
Vulgar. I can’t picture myself drinking this stuff at a party.

Dammit! My husband was drinking this, and I realized I had never rated it, so here goes. Can. Sour barley malt aroma. Clear gold with a large white head. Surprisingly solid barley malt flavor. I was expecting much worse. Light body, moderate carbonation. This qualifies as a decent lawn mower beer, but don’t tell my hipster friends I said so.
