Description
In 1996 Pabst, once one of the largest breweries in the United States closed down its production in Milwaukee after 152 years. Since then Pabst’s legacy brands like Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR), Old Milwaukee, Lone Star, Rainier, Stroh’s, Old Style and Schlitz are brewed under contract by third parties. For nearly two decades, MillerCoors brews and distributes all of Pabst's beers under an agreement. In 2019, it has entered with City Brewing Company into a 20-year contract production agreement until 2040. Pabst will gradually transfer from 2021 until 2024 its production from MillerCoors to City Brewing.

Can, 24oz. A clear, pale golden beer with a small, white head. The aroma and flavor is pretty weak, some pale malts and notes of corn, and a faint fruity touch. Not much bitterness shining through. Medium to thin on the palate, low carbonation level. Short, fruity finish. Definitely not a beer I’d like to be stuck with. 130811

(bottle, 35.5cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond and firm mid-sized head. Slightly grainy and perfumed malty aroma with dusty notes and traces of herbal hops. Mildly sweet and shy bitter flavour, light bodied with a tame carbonation. Slim malty base with notes of sour dough, mineral water and shy hints of hops far in the background; slightly sweet and delicately bitter and slim finish. 27.VII.13

Biggish white head. Clear yellow body with light carbonation. Light grainy mealy aroma with oily notes. Not much going on, really. Dry-sweetish papery mealy taste with grassy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Aftertaste is really the same. Kind of harsh quality to the floury flavour. Not a good beer. (0.355l bottle, from Systembolaget, Charlottenberg.)

Flaske i solskinnet på hyttealtanen: totalt bortkastet tid å drikke denne, dette går rett i vasken. Må finnne noe annet i kjøleskapet. Livet er alt for dejligt til å bruke mer tid på denne enn det tar å skrive disse linjene. Heldigvis kostet den bare 10 kr.

Cans at various divy bars across the States. Very weak flavour, watery, basic hops, corn. Cheap beer for the end of the month when you’re tight on cash.
