Description
In 1996 Pabst, once one of the largest breweries in the United States closed down its production in Milwaukee after 152 years. Since then Pabst’s legacy brands like Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR), Old Milwaukee, Lone Star, Rainier, Stroh’s, Old Style and Schlitz are brewed under contract by third parties. For nearly two decades, MillerCoors brews and distributes all of Pabst's beers under an agreement. In 2019, it has entered with City Brewing Company into a 20-year contract production agreement until 2040. Pabst will gradually transfer from 2021 until 2024 its production from MillerCoors to City Brewing.

Pale Yellow Color, Small Head Quickly Dissipating, no lacing. Light sweet taste. No bitterness no hops. Tasteless, does not leave anything on palate or as an aftertaste. Watery. Best enjoyed if it falls into one of the following situations: Free or you are really desperate to quench your thirst and this is your only option.

bottle from kvickly valby. clear yellow, white head. sweet corn, "industrial" malts in the aroma. quite strong aroma. flavor is very slightly fruity, malty, very slightly flowery hoppy, alc. bitterness. Almost okay for a cheap macro, but I really don’t get it why it has been imported all the way to Denmark. Surely a grøn tuborg or even royal pils is much better.

At last - the legendary PBR is mine! 355 ml Export version, 4.5% ABV, from Superbrugsen, Ans, Denmark. Pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Sweetish candy aroma, some grassy notes. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour? What flavour? Tastes mainly like carbonated water, just a hint of sweetness reveals that it is not. Papery and "empty" finish. Gets one point for not having any offensive "side flavours".

Aroma is surprisingly fruity and floral from entirely too many esters. Faint sulfur and DMS notes to compliment the esters. Moderate corn aroma with a faint graininess. Surprisingly aromatic and not in a good way. Pours a very clear yellow gold with a thin white head that recedes fairly quickly. Only faint lacing and no legs. Flavor is better than the aroma but not by much. Sweet corn mixed with a floral/fruit ester upfront. Mid palate a fairly assertive bitterness kicks in with a hint of a metallic note in the finish. Finish has a lingering bitterness with a hint of sulfur and a light graininess. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Astringency is medium low, but way too high for style. Alcohol warmth is low but present. Overall hipsters have bad taste and this beer is further proof. The esters are too strong, the bitterness is too assertive, it's just not a clean beer, etc... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks avrashi. Clear golden. Aroma of corn and acetaldehyde. Slightly grainy flavor with light sweetness and a slightly drier finish. Light-bodied.
