Description
In 1996 Pabst, once one of the largest breweries in the United States closed down its production in Milwaukee after 152 years. Since then Pabst’s legacy brands like Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR), Old Milwaukee, Lone Star, Rainier, Stroh’s, Old Style and Schlitz are brewed under contract by third parties. For nearly two decades, MillerCoors brews and distributes all of Pabst's beers under an agreement. In 2019, it has entered with City Brewing Company into a 20-year contract production agreement until 2040. Pabst will gradually transfer from 2021 until 2024 its production from MillerCoors to City Brewing.

Rated by style, not overall. Not going to win any awards for flavor or taste, but quite possibly the best lawnmower beer out there.

Bottle at Souley Vegan, eating before going to Beer Revolution. Malty nose, fruity, like Sprite. Sweet, malty flavor, thin and light, not terrible. Yes, this is better than most industrial crap. A little bit better.

Originally rated September 2006. Was quite pleased with this light beer last night, as I drank many from the bottle. Now, tonight, is the proper test. Pours a very pale gold colour with a foamy white head. Surprisingly, this one stays longer than expected and lace is formed. Wow ! Aroma is quite nasty, like metal rusting with your neighbour’s compost. Last night, the taste was malty and semi-sweet. Tonight, it’s mainly corn and water. Much better from the bottle, but if you want Pabst (moneywise), stick with the normal one.

Originally rated November 2006. Bought this one in a single bottle at the grocery store in the Saguenay region of Quebec. Brewed by Sleeman. Pours a pale yellow colour with a decent white frothy head. Average retention with some thicker than normal lace (for a swill). Bigger bubble active carbonation. Chemical nose and taste. Rust, alcohol, garbage and a dry aftertaste. Pretty bad brew, but at least... nice lacing.

I have good memories of drinking this from my grandfather’s glass. It had a beautiful gold color and lots of bubbles, forming a thick, tall white head. It no longer has this impressive appearance, but the flavor is what I remember. It has some corn with a dry maltiness. Served cold, it isn’t bad at all. Much lower carbonation than I remember, and no thick, tall, head. Actually it tastes better straight from the can.

12 oz. bottle. Pours pale yellow with a thin head. The aroma is wheat and lemons. The flavor is citrusy sweet, mellow and a little bitter and tart. The aftertaste is long and kinda sour. The palate is crisp, light and a little sticky. Overall, this is a pale and weak beer, but easy drinking and fairly clean.
