Description
We are The Curious Brewery. Where flavour and passion comes first. We believe in trying to create things that others can’t.

Our reason for being is to inspire people to stay curious. To question. To celebrate. To smile more. And to never graduate from the school of life. We decided to make the best-tasting beer and cider, using just the best quality ingredients brewed at our state of the art Brewery in Ashford, Kent, United Kingdom.

Curious bought Wild Beer Co out of administration in a deal that involved the beer brands and intellectual property of Wild Beer Co, but not its Somerset-based brewery production facilities. The Curious and Wild Beer Co businesses were transfered into the hands of St Peter’s in 2023.

Bottled. Ruby/black, small beige head. Licorice aroma. Dryish with wild yeast sourness, roasty malt and the lightest touch of wood and old english marmelade. Finishes somewhat metallic with medium bitterness. The yeasty acidity makes gives it a touch of old ale.

Bottled. Amber colour, large but brief head. Perfumy hop aroma with notes of peach and melon. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel and medium body. Light caramelly malt backs the wealth of unsual perfumy hops. Dusty finish with powerful bitterness. A damn fine English IPA!

Bottle conditioned
Dark brown color; frothy head. Mild but interesting aroma, with a clean wood character, giving a light oak bacteria sourness. Light body structure, quite common taste, based on roasted malt and caramel, but embellished with a gentle oak character and very light Bourbon vanilla. The final is mainly built on the roasted malt, quite dry.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear, reddish brown with a rough, beige head. Vinous aroma. Medium body with a light tartness and oaky, vinous notes. Unusual with the oak accents in a beer this light in alcohol, but actually very pleasant. 150906

(33 cl bottle at Haket, Gothenburg) Clear red color before the sediment hits it and shading appears. Nice, but non lasting, beige head. Some roasted scent, but also spicy. Pine and fresh spring meadow as well, but also acidic. Christmas spices. Smells like lacto bacteria and infection lingering but noticable. Some wine taste, most likely the oak aging is made in red wine barrels. If it was a blind testing, I’d guess for an experimental Belgian ale, certainly not a porter. Dry and thin mouth feel. All in all strange and un welcome. Maybe if you like red wine it’s better but I can’t take this.
