Description
We are The Curious Brewery. Where flavour and passion comes first. We believe in trying to create things that others can’t.

Our reason for being is to inspire people to stay curious. To question. To celebrate. To smile more. And to never graduate from the school of life. We decided to make the best-tasting beer and cider, using just the best quality ingredients brewed at our state of the art Brewery in Ashford, Kent, United Kingdom.

Curious bought Wild Beer Co out of administration in a deal that involved the beer brands and intellectual property of Wild Beer Co, but not its Somerset-based brewery production facilities. The Curious and Wild Beer Co businesses were transfered into the hands of St Peter’s in 2023.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear, reddish brown with a rough, beige head. Vinous aroma. Medium body with a light tartness and oaky, vinous notes. Unusual with the oak accents in a beer this light in alcohol, but actually very pleasant. 150906

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a beautiful, clear amber with a nice, off-white head. Fresh and lightly floral aroma. Medium body with a slightly sweet malt character quickly balanced by a distinct bitterness. Ends very dry. Very decent. 150906

Bottle. Amber colour with a big longlasting creamy head. Sweet malty arome with some earthy hoppy hints. Lots of hops in the flavor with a nice maltieness. The finish is dry and very bitter.

(33 cl bottle at Haket, Gothenburg) Clear red color before the sediment hits it and shading appears. Nice, but non lasting, beige head. Some roasted scent, but also spicy. Pine and fresh spring meadow as well, but also acidic. Christmas spices. Smells like lacto bacteria and infection lingering but noticable. Some wine taste, most likely the oak aging is made in red wine barrels. If it was a blind testing, I’d guess for an experimental Belgian ale, certainly not a porter. Dry and thin mouth feel. All in all strange and un welcome. Maybe if you like red wine it’s better but I can’t take this.

(33 cl bottle at Haket, Gothenburg) Shady golden honey color, tan head. Fresh, but with some boiled vegetables, scent. Ratehr high bitterness. Medium mouth feel. Rather boring and easily forgotten. Perhaps I’m just Americanized regarding my taste of I.P.A.?

33cl bottle from the Goods Shed, Canterbury. Golden, good carbonation and thin lasting white head. Woody lager aroma, some citrus. Too fizzy and woody in mouth and then I don’t like the finish at all. Please someone, take this away from me. Overall nasty.

33cl bottle at The Coastguard, St Margaret’s at Cliffe. I was surprised to find all 3 beers behind the bar. I was admiring their selection of other beers and mistook these for wines. I recognised the labels as I have done the vineyard tour. I was even more surprised at the £2.70 price tag. This is a beer with a deep brown/ruby colour and a disappearing beige head. Choc/liquorice aroma, velvety in the mouth with an odd oaky finish which I admit I don’t care for. Bit of vanilla too. Bit too carbonated and a bit too oaky. Nice try though. 2.6 on tap at good initial chocolate flavour. smooth in mouth. some praline. nuts. rather good I thought.
