Pours hazy amber with a small head.Nose shows typical bready notes and cloves with not so common lemon, orange blossom following.More lemon and cloves as flavours along with the expected doughy wheat and yeast.Nice med-light body with medium carbonation. Suits the beer well.

Bottle. Very light orange with a small white head. Mild aroma has earth and little citrus with a definite nutty character (although I wouldn’t have guessed chestnuts without knowing) . Fairly thin cereal malt taste with respectable pils-level bitterness. The chestnuts are barely noticeable in the taste and don’t seem to do anything to the rather thin mouthfeel. An OK pils with a minor twist. [6 2 5 2 12 2.7]Bottle, as part of the Bridge Rd Advent Calendar. Clearly fresher than previously. Very pale hazy gold with a white head that fades but doesn’t disappear. Delicate aroma of hay and spices, a little earthy nuttiness. Light bodied and clean with less chestnut presence than suggested by the aroma. Dry, fairly bitter and spicy at the end.

Cloudy blond with a thick head. Peppery aroma with light fruits and nice yeastiness. Very fruity on the palate with gentle spiciness, slightly creamy malts and maybe a hint of acidity late. Nice pale malt character and good balance. One of the more interesting Aussie microbrews I’ve come across.

On tap at Brewery. This is a surprisingly easy supper. Somewhat acidic overtones give way to a sweet, full- mouthed, low-carbonated gem. Am waiting to now taste the six I bought in bottles.

Bottle. Cloudy pale gold with decent tight white head. The aroma is tangy citrus with peppery and metallic notes. Medium body and nice carbonation bordering on fizzy. Tangy citrus foretatse with a peppery and to my mind rather harsh metallic bitterness in the finish. An unusual beer which was just a bit harsh for my taste.

Bottle, 12C. Pours pale gold with a large fluffy white head. Smells of grapefruit, blood oranges and a little resin with an odd (but not unpleasant) Wit-like yeast note - although a lot less than some others look to have found. The hop aroma is fresh but mild. There’s light nectarine sweetness underneath aromatic but modest bitterness. Utterly frivolous throwing around of fresh hops with just enough malt to make it work. Fresh and lovely seasonal session beer. [3.6] [5/11] 2011 version: as above, but with more tropical fruit notes in both aroma and taste - lychees and passionfruit I suppose - and a touch of spice in the finish. That (odd yeast?) character is there again, but I still don’t mind it. The hops are interesting and very unusual. [3.6][4/12]2012 version. Hazy yellowish orange with a modest white head. Aroma of oranges, lychees, gooseberries, menthol, marijuana. Fruity with a dry and quite bitter finish that’s still overmatched by the green hops. [3.6]2013 version - again different hops. Aroma is less tropical and green - a little cleaner with lime joining lychees and passionfruit. Bitterness is higher and the finish is dry and buzzing. Liked this version better. [3.7]

From a 330ml bottle on 15/5/2010. Has an unusual yeasty citrus aroma - as claimed on the label, it’s orange that comes immediately to mind. This one was packed with as much yeast sediment as I’ve found in a beer. Flavour wise, it’s as curious as its aroma. Citrus fruits predominate (orange again, and some lemon) but the big hop kick which is promised just doesn’t eventuate, with the bitterness moderate at best.

Pours amber with a large head.Nose shows ridiculously fresh hops... like that green, just picked flowers and fresh mown grass smell. Lots of resin, very sweet, very spicy. Amazing. Plenty of cookie dough malt to back it up as well.Loads more cookie dough as a flavour, along with a fair bit of bready malt before transitioning to a hint of grainy-ness. some nutty notes in there as well, pecans or something.Lively carbonation is a bit excessive, but the body is quite smooth.

Bottle. Gushed a bit. Deep red with an inch of beige head. Aroma has a mixture of dark sugars and a little grass. Taste is fairly sweet with quite a lot of bite from the high remaining carbonation. Fizzy palate improves a little with a swirl, but this is still pretty dull.

Bottle. Pours bright orange with a large creamy white head. Smells of orange zest and cloves with light doughy yeast and some funk. Taste is sweet and tart. Finishes tart with punchy pepper/ clove/ ginger. Good blue cheese beer. Eminently quaffable with character and a little intrigue. [3.8][12/10] Tap. Had a bottle a few weeks ago and wouldn’t change what I said previously. On tap it was missing all of the tartness and most of the spice: it was an OK fruity Belgian ale around 3.3. Leaving the rating as per the bottle. [3.8]330ml brown bottle from the advent box. Still the slightly ͘Z҉̣̰̭͚algo label. If anything, funkier than ever. I’d say I don’t understand the ratings here, but it was underwhelming from the keg at the Wheatsheaf - that was five years ago, apparently.
