The Smithwick Family in partnership with direct descendants of the Sullivan Family had a vision to re-open the once-great brewery in the city where it all began. They enlisted the help of Ian Hamilton, one of Ireland’s most eminent contemporary master-brewers. Together they are bringing artisan brewing back to Kilkenny. If people thought that brewing in Kilkenny was dead and buried, they are in for a rude awakening…

On a nitro tap, Goblet Beer Store, Zagreb. Black to jet black, lasting beige head. Aroma is roasty, nutty, burnt. Hints of dark fruit and licorice. Light body, soft texture, roasty, burnt, charred wood and cardboard flavour. Smooth. Minimal bitterness, light finish.
Canned from whole foods. Dark pour -malty as heck, caramel coffee - pretty well done

Bottled 500ml. -from Goblet Zagreb. Darker golden coloured, medium sized white to off-white head, light yeasty and floral nose. Quite herbal, floral, touch of caramel and light biscuity with moderate bitter finish.
