This is now marketed as an IPA – so may be a different beer under the same name. Anyway, pours a golden yellow with a small foamy white head and good lacing. Aroma has tropical fruit and peaches. In the mouth there are briefly some floral hops and tropical fruits before a harsh stickiness descends over the tongue and makes further tasting impossible. Semoline ? Weetabix ?! Finish is very dry and sticky. Ugh ! Yet another light coloured Titanic beer that I can’t stand !

Cask at Sun Inn, Stafford – as “Classic Mild”. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. There’s malts in the aroma plus some hints of dark fruits. In the mouth it has a creamy texture and is slightly sweet. Flavours of malts, roast coffee and cocoa. Plus traces of chocolate and raisins. Finish is bitter sweet. This is a pretty good mild.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Wellington (Brum) on 2nd July 2022. Pure golden body, white crown. Dry and citrussy from start to finish.

Cask at Sun, Stafford. Pours a hazy pale gold with a small white head and good lacing. There’s floral hops in the aroma, plus a hint of pineapple. Sweet and fruity in the mouth with prominent lemon and lime flavours. Later on floral hops and citrus come to the fore which leads to a bit of a yucky finish. Overall it’s OK though.

Cask thanks to Grumbo: Poured deep brown with reddish edges, head is light brown. Aroma is cherry, fruity, malty. Taste is cherry, roasted malts.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - deep brown with red chinks. Off white head. Nose - baked cherries, plum and going into prunes. Taste - Spangles, as Craig said. Generally a little confected sugar. Roast red fruit. Palate - light to medium bodied, tangy sweet middle and finish. Overall - weird but good.

bottle at ashs.. massive plum nose... dark sweet cherry plum...dark sweet fruity chocolate nose... dark fruits... sweet caramel.. massive spangles... soft sweet crystal... big juicy fruit... no real plum in flavour other than little in linger... but quite like it

Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. Got this free thanks to Housemartins & Beautiful South singer Paul Heaton, who put money behind the bar of 60 pubs in the UK in honour of his 60th birthday! The beer is pink and clear with a pinkish white head. Artificial raspberry and light vinous notes in the aroma. Sweet taste with just a touch of raspberry, leading to a bitter finish. Tastes a little bit dirty but all in all very drinkable and even enjoyable despite the flaws.

Cask at Sun Inn, Stafford. Pours a hazy golden yellow with minimal off-white head and good lacing. There’s malts and tangerines in the aroma. In the mouth rye grain are prominent. At the start it is slightly sweet but soon traditional hops and mango come to dominate. A smattering of kiwi too. The finish is decidedly dry and slightly sticky and rough. This is decent enough – but is not for swigging !
