Keg at the Sir Robert Peel, Leicester. Orangeish brown, very translucent with a cream-coloured head. Light coffee scent, with some ash, chocolate, caramel. Sweet taste, almost too sweet. Some pleasant sourness in the finish, with sarsaparilla, Camp coffee and blackberry in the aftertaste. Thin, thin body. Tasty enough but inconsequential.

330ml bottle from Appleyards, Shrewsbury. Pours clear gold, white head. Sweet malt on the nose, taste is smooth, clean, sweet pale malt, simplistic much like a German kolsch I guess, but it's been a while since I've been in Koln to try the real thing.

Cask at The Tabard. Pours golden, no head. Zesty citrus aroma. Nice smooth brew, hoppy with nice malt base.

[ As Titanic Lifeboat ].
ABV: 4.0%. Clear medium to dark red amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, toasted, light dark malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, malt bitter, sweet malt, caramel, toasted, light dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180123]

Cask at the Caley Picture House. Pours clear chestnut brown with a thick cream-coloured head. Aromas of light chocolate and citrus. Taste is bitter, citrus. Bitter finish. Bit too bitter.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, London. Not really a mild, nor totally typical of a black IPA, which is how it's described elsewhere. Sits somewhere inbetween. Pours chestnut brown with a small beige head. Aroma of citrus, hop, malt and chocolate with light roasting. Moderate sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Increasing bitterness to finish.

On draught, beautiful creamy head stayed all the way with slight burnt coal tastes, malty & plenty of stone fruit tastes. Delish!

Cask at Cloisters. Clear ruby/brown body with a dense beige cap. Good lacing. Aroma of plum, rhubarb and wood. Flavour of plum, berries, earth and a hint of Calpol. Thin to medium body with a slick, watery texture. Soft prickle of carbonation. Fruity and unusual.

From cask at Castle Hotel, Manchester, 29.11.17. Clear pale copper. Dense and persistent off-white head and lacing. Sweet aroma and taste of sweet malt, prunes, dates , brittle and dried berries. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium low bitterness. A bit on the sweet side.
