Can at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours almost black with a medium sized frothy beige head and some lacing. Cake and chocolate dominate the rich aroma. In the sweetness is initially prevalent over bitterness but the latter quickly increases to become dominant. There is an initial off-putting metallic tang which gradually eases to show flavours of fudge, chocolate and roasted malts plus hints of honey and vanilla. This is quite nice – once you get used to the metallic tang !
