[11/09] Bottle. Quite a pale amber with a cream head that faded to just there. Aroma is caramel and biscuity with fruity hops. Still savoury somehow. It’s medium-bodied and slightly chewy. Very fruity with restrained bitterness. Perhaps a little sweet and the finish is rather brief. Nothing particularly original here, but lovely. [3.8] [6/10] Completely clear bright orange. Low bead. Toffee verging on butterscotch with very fruity hop aroma with some mild spice. Appreciate the clear "bottled on" date. A little thin and quite sweet, but a lovely session ale. [5/18]Cold. Really quite fizzy with a large and persistent head. Seems drier (as a consequence? or a tweak?). Still a more than decent beer I'm happy to drink often.

Bottle. Looks like black tea. Desultory head. Fruit and pine aroma. Toffee, bubblegum and raisin malt sweetness. Spruce hops and plenty of fairly dull bitterness. If there are lots of hops in here they are ill-used. [2.0] Bottle. Copper. Small, fading beige head that leaves some lacing. Medium bead. Aroma of dried fruit, caramel, pine and a little citrus. Taste as above. A much better bottle, but still not much chop.

[11/09] Bottle. Black with small crema head. Caramel malt, coffee, cocoa and heaps of vanilla on the nose. The chocolate is pronounced and quite bitter and separate from the malt sweetness. Surprisingly savoury - it really could work with a pie. [3.8][10/16] Had many times since, but this time actually testing the meat pie idea. Yep. If there’s such a thing as a classic dozen Australian beers, this is one of them.

Copper pour with small dissipating head.Aroma shows cinnamon, caramel, some plums, vanilla, dark chocolate and figs. Very rich, very appetising.Flavour contains masses of dark sugar and treacle, almost overwhelming in its sweetness. A fair bit of alcohol is also noticeable. No where near enough carbonation is present to cut through the sweetness.

Pale gold pour with a small rapidly fading head.A fair bit of floral and grassy notes on the aroma (along with a white wine-like hint, alla nelson sauvin style) before the hops gives way to a strong sweet caramel and toffee-apple hit. Nice, but very un-pilsener like!Flavours include lots of German biscuity malt and finishes a bit grainy. Again, the hops seems to be light and floral rather than spicy and grassy. Too sweet, not enough bitterness. After a while cereal notes start to show too.Needs more carbonation to cut through the sweetness.

Very dark copper pour with a moderately sized tan head that slowly fades.Aroma consists of mil chocolate, roasted malt, sultanas and just a hint of vanilla (it merges with the chocolate).Loads of chocolate grain evident upon tasting: lots of nutty and toasty note with a hint of roasted grain but little of the roasty bitterness. Some light chocolate is apparent.Good medium body, I would have liked it to be richer/creamier.

Hazy straw pour. Small but persistent dense head.Expected wheat aroma with a lot of citrus, mainly lemon. Quite sweet, almost artificial. Noticeable coriander, but there’s also a vegetal aspect to it.Very similar flavours, with sweet wheat and coriander, followed by hints of orange and a pleasant light bitterness.Good light body, but could have used a bit more carbonation.
