Description
Founded in 2020, Sureshot Brewing has been a long term project of James Campbell. Everyone with a bitter taste in their mouth knows James. A serial head brewer at some of Manchester’s most respected independent breweries, and pioneer of the best in new world styles and hops to the UK. J.C. has been instrumental in the development of new wave British brewing over the last decade (and then some).

But we're more than a CV, we believe beer is something that’s meant to be enjoyed. That's why we’re focusing on what we know people love: hoppy IPAs, clean lagers, and flavourful, easy-drinking pale ales. Now we're ready to get brewing and release our first beers in 2022.

On tap at Creative Juices Taproom, Maple Cross, Rickmansworth, Herts. A murky/hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a massive white head on top. Thick, dank, ripe tropical fruit, really good dry hopping. It's quite decent, only my 5th rate from Sureshot.

Can from Hop Burns and Black, enjoyed watching USA v Australia. Looks great - bright ruby red, cloudy, big pink foam that holds really nicely. Nose is jammy, distinct raspberry and blackberry. Nicely balanced flavour of light sweetness and medium sour. Tart raspberry flavour is prominent. Light body, prickly carbonation, short tart finish. Lingering raspberry. Lovely.

Third of five Stockport Beer Festival afterthoughts passing through Manchester. More fruited than sour for this hazy golden brew, but not lesser for it. Crisp and fizzy, mild aniseed seems to be available, probably enabled because of a low sourness.

Panda thanks to Cloin. A mild to medium haze on this orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light bodied pale malts, a thin sweetness. Soft cooling pine. Decent hop fruits, reasonably bright citrus, a little Motueka lime and mild stone fruits. No hop spice. Light semi dry finish. Light, fairly bright and quite drinkable but a bit thin bodied and lacking hop edge.

440ml can. Pours black with a big tan head decent retention. Aroma of maple syrup, fudge, chocolate. Taste is very sweet, maple and fudge dominate, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, booze is well integrated. Very full thick body, creamy texture.
Contrary to what others have said this was exactly as sweet as I expected - which, as delicious as it is, was a bit too much to properly enjoy it to be honest. Nailed the brief though. Also, the lactose addition was extremely unnecessary given the adjuncts present.
