Description
Elysian Brewing Company operates three locations of which Elysian Capitol Hill is the main brewery and a full production brewery – Elysian Airport Way, in the Georgetown neighborhood (since 2011). Known both for classic styles and for flexibility and innovation, Elysian has brewed over 500 different recipes since opening in 1996. While Elysian’s brewers use a variety of unusual ingredients, they are seasonally notorious for their pumpkin beers. In 2015 Elysian joined AB InBevs' family of craft brands.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours light bright hazy gold with a transient white head. Aroma is citrus with a touch of berry. Medium body. Juicy and lightly sweet. Not quite enough bitterness for balance. Flavor seems citrus, green guava, and perhaps passionfruit. Decent.

12oz can from a random coffee place in Orange County, drank by the pool at my daughters in Laguna Hills on 13th April 2026. Only a light haze in my pale golden bodied IPA, wispy white head on top. Not too sure what I was expecting, more hop bitterness I suppose and more raw resin and citrus flavours, didn't really get that, but it's a decent enough IPA but it transport me back to the heady days of those first American IPA's where brewers just chucked hops at them.

Draft at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. Clearer than expected, but still a DIPA as far as I am concerned. Rich hops and very well balanced malts. More UK in style.

Pours golden brown with a thin white head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, coffee. Taste has sweetened coffee, some spices, nutmeg. Palate has much of the same, lingering spice on the body. Good.

Bought locally, best by May 16th 2026.

Pours a hazy light orange with a small head of foam, dissipates quickly, little to no lacing.

Smell is citrus, orange peel, light grapefruit and bitterness, quite juicy.

The taste is orange juice, grapefruit, more citrus notes, juicy, lowish level of bitterness. Some alcohol peeks through.

Good mouthfeel, I would not bother to drink this again.
