Known both for classic styles and for flexibility and innovation, Elysian has brewed over 500 different recipes since opening in 1996. While Elysian’s brewers use a variety of unusual ingredients, they are seasonally notorious for their pumpkin beers. In 2015 Elysian joined AB InBevs' family of craft brands.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours gold with a smallish white head. Aroma is bread with citrus/floral. Arguably med body. Flavor is citrus, bready, floral and a light touch of grass/spice. Dry. Moderately bitter. Decent.

Can, 0.357l. Aroma is citrusy, floral and biscuity. Pours hazy amber color with medium sized soapy off-white head, good lacing, floating fruity particles and sparkling appearance. Taste starts refreshing tropical fruity, citrusy and resinous, following is herbal, medicinal and bready, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is prettier bitter. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Citro fuzz…

Opalescent golden colour, moderate sized off-white head; aroma of orange peel, grapefruity, pine resiny, some yeasty and grainy-malty notes: well balanced bittersweet taste with the same notes as can be felt in the aroma; good IPA

Deep brown pour with a slight orange tinge. Smell goes more with toasty and roast malts, and is not overwhelmed by pie spice. Also picking up roast pumpkin or pumpkin muffin. After that great nose, the taste is kind of a letdown. A bit over roasted. And now there's too much cinnamon coming in. But at least the slightly bigger abv can be detected. Just gets kind of harsh for a fall beer.

Single bottle from Binny's. Deep brown pour, persistent tan head. Smell of pumpkin and pie spice, comes up in nice proportion. Taste offers more pie spice, which overwhelms any coffee character. The coffee does turn up on the palate after a few sips. I'm actually getting a note of jalapeño pepper as well. Would have preferred some actual pumpkin to balance out the spice, which starts to get overdone further down the bottle.

Coffee helps to add a layer of complexity to the usual pumpkin beer spicing, but this is still a cinnamon and nutmeg bomb. Eh.

Bottle. For some reason I was expecting a black or super dark brown beer. This is not. Lighter than that but darker than pale. Olfactory is a typical pumkin spice nose, similar of most other punky beers. Can't really smell the coffee. Taste is much more mellow than I was expecting, for some reason I was thinking it would be a pumpkin spice alky bomb with lots of bitter black coffee, it is not. It does have some pumpkin spice and it does have a tad of coffee but overall it seems to be balanced for a pumpkin beer. Yeah, I can stomach this stuff when I usually quite abhor a pumpkin beer session. I was just going for tick on this one but it turned out to be somewhat decent.
