Description
In May 1867, the Leinenkugel family brewery was founded in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin by Jacob Leinenkugel. He was a family man driven by an iron work ethic, and he knew that his German family heritage would play an integral part of his brewery’s success. Today, the sixth generation of Leinenkugels continues to brew some of the same family-inspired recipes that Jacob poured his heart and soul into. Over the years, our family has grown and so has our brewery, but our history and heritage remain at the forefront.

On Tap at the Old Boise Brew Fest 07 pours out cloudy orange topped with a white head. Anice aroma of orange and wheat. Pretty tasty.

Bottle. The aroma hits you hard as soon as you open the bottle. Very fruity... almost artificial tasting. Orangish-hazy color. Doesn’t taste much like beer... more like a fermented juice. Might be nice outside on a hot summer day, but there are better options for that.

Thanks to Skyview for sharing this very rare, and very good beer. It has a powerful aroma of hops with citrus and herbs. one of the most intense hop aromas I have had in any beer. Fruity, inclduing peaches and lemon, more citrus, in the flavor. But there is also a body of sweet malt. Very well balanced. Thick on the palate. I expected a beer good for Leinenkugels; but this is good by any measure.

Bottle. Creamy sour chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown with large tan head. Molasses and chocolate malt flavor. Body a bit light and watery. A very nice tasting beer - Miller has done a good job maintaining the quality of the Leinenkugel line.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Hazy, golden with an off-white head. Very spicy accents in the nose - slightly gingery. Thin and somewhat watery body, sweetish, spicy and almost soapy. Dy finish. But a decent summer quencher. 200507

draft - Pours hazy yellow with a very citrus laden aroma that prominently features lemons. The flavor is light and lemony. Thin bodied, crisp, and refreshing, it works as a summer thirst quencher, but is rather lacking as a quality beer.

Fruit beer styles, such a variety of flavors. 12 0z brown bottle for a $1 at Vintage Estates. Twist off the lid and you get a smell of lemon, lots of lemon and citrus and not of the hop variety. I can also detect some wheat beer smells in the background. Look just like a really nice wheat beer cloudy and all. The color of vanilla or off white, slightly yellow, but barely. There is not any gunk i on the bottom of the bottle and I don’t perceive any precipitants floating around in there. Interesting flavor, not sweet like lemonade. From the previous reviews I was expecting lemonade but this is not. Lemon flavored yes but it is not nearly as sweet. Perhaps it can be compared to unsweetened lemonade or something. Very good carbonation. I do sense some wheat stuff in there, you can tell it is a wheat based brew. Overall not bad for a fruit beer but for a wheat beer this leaves something to be desired. Lancaster strawberry wheat, whittekirke rose and Buffalo Bills Orange Blossom Cream Ale are better than this. However, this is much more palatable than Abita purple haze and Bar Harbor True Blue Blueberry Ale.
