Keg at The Round, Keswick. Murky gold colour with a white head. This is advertised as a flavoured pale ale but if I hadn't seen the pump clip I would have put it as a flavoured sour due to the tartness that persists throughout. The passion fruit is obvious at the start, with some lime giving the tartness. There's some creaminess and sweetness going on too, but it's the tartness that sticks in the memory. Bit of an odd one - interesting and not unpleasant, but somehow it's not quite worked.

Black topped with a khaki cap that veers to the edge.
Nose is mellow roast, charr, earthy fruit rinds, toffee.
Taste comprises chocolate, caramel, spice, dried fruit rinds.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close.
Decent porter.

5/7/2024. Cask at 27th Festival of Beer and Brewing, Stowmarket. Pours clear golden amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is fruity, biscuit, honey, caramel, malt. Quite sweet taste. A little watery. Easy drinker.

13/4/2024. Draught at Kerroo Brewing Company, Port Erin, Isle of Man. Pours clear golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is grainy, hoppy, citrus, malt, cereals, grass. Medium plus sweetness, light to moderate bitterness and body. Average carbonation.

13/4/2024. Draught at Kerroo Brewing Company, Port Erin, Isle of Man. Pours black with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, prunes, tar, liquorice. Moderate sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Quite full bodied, very smooth, average carbonation. Seemed more than 7%. Cask at 27th Festival of Beer and Brewing, Stowmarket. Pours very dark brown with a lasting frothy beige head. Aroma is dark malts, chocolate, black treacle, toffee, brown sugar, nut, vanilla, hints of bourbon. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, quite smooth, average to soft carbonation. Dry finish. Likeable.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Clear gold beer, no real head. Palate is light and semi dry, not a lot of carbonation. Sweet malts. Sweet fruits. Some sweet esters. Light semi dry finish. Flat and sweet.

Cask at the pigs ear beer festival 2023. A clear straw gold coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is semi sweet, little earthy straw, hay, lemongrass, herbal hop. Flavour is composed of earthy grains, grass, lemon twist, soft cereal, herbal notes. Palate is semi sweet. Light decent cask condition. Ok.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2023, day - London. Pours clear gold with a bubbly, white head. Light sweet flavour with a touch of butter, grassy hops, biscuits, straw. Light bodied with delicate carbonation. Decent balance to finish, notes of crispy straw, dry pale malts. Fine.

Can from BeerGB. Appearance - cloudy yellow to orange. Fluffy white head. Nose - orange, melon, dank, dishcloth. Taste - orange, but an edge of sour citric acid. And that sour dominates. Palate - light bodied, bitter and lightly sour. Overall - I'm not sure this is how the brewer intended.
