Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours a clear dark gold, small white head, some retention. Aroma has a light grassy and citrus hop, cereal and bread notes. Taste of grains and cereal, citrus peel and earthiness, grassy bitter finish with doughy notes. Light bodied, nice zing to the carbonation. Quite good.

Cals at Archibald Simpsons, Aberdeen. It pours clear chestnut brown. With a a handsome frothy beige head. The aroma is toasty grains, earthy, woody, nutty, filter coffee, raisin, sultana, toasted fruit cake and cacao nibs. The taste is firmly dry, some pleasing bitterness which lingers, woody, sappy, resin, dull coffee, cacao nibs, earth, dried fruits , some spice and molasses with a drying, slightly toothy finish. Average body and soft, fluffy cask carbonation. Well put together, flavourful and in good condition. Nice one.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2024. Copper in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Caramel, earthy malts, some red berry sweetness, leading to a lingering, bitter, finish. Fine.
