Medium offwhite creamy head. Dark brown body. Fruity spicy aroma with faint vinegary caramel notes. Sweet-dryish roasty caramel and licorice taste with spicy wooden notes. Smooth, soft, mild velvety mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry roasty fruity caramel taste with wooden spicy honey notes. Very mild, but incredibly drinkable. (0.25l cask, The Blue Blazer, Edinburgh.)

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin cream colored head. The aroma is spicy combined with light notes of malt. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of elderflowers, leading to a lightly bitter finish. The body is light.

Gravity cask from the Brewery Bar, third day at GBBF 09. Wholesome black appearance with a small beige head. Smoky malts to the nose. Liquorice and coffee from the dark malts, with tasty hints of dark berries and dark, mid-bitter fruits. Smooth on the swallow. Well made and pleasant to drink (Earls Court, 06.08.2009).
