Description
Taybeh Brewing Company is a family owned business established in 1994 following the Oslo Peace Agreement (1993) when David Khoury and Nadim Khoury were inspired by their late father, Canaan David Khoury (1926-2002) to return to their home village of Taybeh after spending more than twenty years in the United States and establish the first micro brewery in the Middle East.

The goal was to invest and boost the local economy by introducing new styles of natural hand crafted micro-brewed beers according to the German Purity Law with no preservatives or additives making an excellent Palestinian beer while creating a nationalistic feeling. Nadim Khoury turned his hobby of making homemade beer during college days into a career becoming the master brewer. He is very proud to pass this passion and experience to his daughter, Madees Khoury, the only female brewer in Palestine.

Pours a clear slightly darker golden color. Topped with a small and quickly disappearing white head. There’s not much to the nose, just a slight hoppy aroma, barely noticeable. Likewise the taste. Some initial sweetness, followed by a very watery body and almost no distint finish. Easy to drink, but not much to the taste.

33cl bouteille @ RBBWG III, thanks 77ships. BB 25/07/2014 Ambrée, col fin café au lait. Arôme est malté caramel, le tout restant très léger. Effluves de grains concassés au rétro-nasal. Palais est malté, caramel, pointe presque biscuitée - grains poudreux. Fruité noir modéré, léger chocolaté et sec au fini.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Obtained in a trade with tlahav. Pours a dark red pomegranate-hued dark brown with no head. Smell tart, light vinegar, red berries, this doesn’t feel entirely right, not per se off-puting, it isn’t too good either. Tastes of bitter leaves, hebs, smoke, red berry sourness, tangy. Touch less carb. I doubt that they intended it to be this way, nice effort I suppose from Palestine but infected sadly never-the-less which appears to be how it always is going by the other ratings.

18/I/14 - 33cl bottle @ RBBWG III, my place - BB: 25/VII/13, bottled: 25/VII/13 (2014-85) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!

Clear red brown beer, small beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit smoky, grains, hint of mocha, hay. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: grains, bit smoky, mocha, bad chocolate, some coffee. Aftertaste: bit funky, overripe fruits, caramel, dried fruits, smoky, earthy. Pretty complex for a Middle Eastern beer, but still not very good.

RBWG 14 Pours dark brown , rather clear . No real foam . Smell has bread and funk . Taste is rather smoky , some metallic back . Some bitterness. ok ..

[Thanks to tomer]. Bottle. Golden colour with a white head with medium duration. Aroma is light malty with sour hints. Flavor is also sourish with slightly lemon notes. Light final with bittery mouthfeel.

[Thanks to tomer]. Country #70. Bottle. Brown colour with an off white head with medium lasting and good lacing. Aroma has notes of yeast, light citrus and green apple. Flavor is yeasty with metallic hints. Acidic final.

At a tasting, thanks David, smallish creamy head, slightly hazy very pale orange colour, aroma of orange and coriander with some honey and graininess, flavour of citrus and flowers with a touch of spice and honey, medium sourness and quite dry but not overly so. True to the style and quite pleasant

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks David C. Pretty clear golden with a tiny bit of haze. Aroma of orange peels and coriander. Wheaty flavor, a bit grainy, spicy and citric, with mild estery fruitiness, light tart notes and a drier and more spicy finish. Light to medium-bodied. OK, quite easy-drinking.
