At Zest brewery we make an excellent range of beers brimming with quality, character and passion all infused with a touch of Planet Rock!

Zest Brewery has been borne from merging centuries’ old brewing techniques with progressive thinking to deliver a range of both traditional and innovative beers of outstanding quality in cask, bottle and canned format.

The lessons learnt from our Oldershaw Brewery roots are being used to continue to look after our local customers, to start our mobile bar business offering both static pop up bars of various sizes and also a converted horsebox bar – Bar Zest – and to broaden our bespoke bottling capability.

Beers are available to trade through direct delivery and wholesale distribution. Casks of beer are available for parties, weddings, corporate events and all celebrations.

8/8/2025. Cask at GBBF 2025. Mucky, straw, stale, damp malt aroma. Not a good nose. Tasted better though, but not a festival highlight.

Cask at GBBF 25. Slightly opaque gold. Frothy foamy translucent white head. Aroma has some citrus through dirty damp hops. Citrusy edge. Slightly resinous. More damp malts. Light-medium bodied. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly. Pretty bland and stale appearing.

Catching up on some paper ratings. Sample courtesy of Grumbo. Cheers. Aroma of fruit, biscuit, veg, slightly metallic, malty with a bit of caramel. Taste again had hints of metallic, vegy and off fruit. Quite watery. Not really for me.

Cask at the Wellington Birmingham. Poured a clear yellow golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt and yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, malt, fresh, light toffee, grassy, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
