On tap at Catfish, Fitzroy, Melbourne. Pours golden with some minor cloudiness. Funky nose with some hay tones. Nice mix of bretted funk and sourness with more usual barnyardy saison characters. Would drink again.

330ml bottle sampled during Aussie trip 2017-18. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma is floral with citrus fruits & pine. Taste is moderate malty, light sweet, light bitter, with orange, marmalade, candied peel, pine. Medium bodied, average carb. Dry, piney, bitter finish

375ml can. Pours hazy straw gold with a white head. Aroma is floral, citrus, grapefruit, pine resin. Taste is moderate to heavy bitter, with dank pine, citrus - grapefruit, orange. Medium bodied, carb was fine. Huge lingering hoppy bitter finish. A cracking, old school west coast hop bomb

From a 330ml (?) bottle on 8/12/2017. Pours a cola colour with a small head. The nose is primarily bourbony, with some dark fruit in the background. Very sweet and fruity in the mouth, primarily cherries and plums, with a bit of raisin, vanilla and Coke. The bourbon and oak are quite prominent but not overwhelming. Has an oiiy palate and moderate carbonation. It's not often that barrel aged beers excite me, and this one doesn't, but it's decent enough.

Recommended to me by a guy at Gangemi's (West Perth), 30 minutes before I started back to Sydney and then promptly forgotten.... Well, how surprised am I to discover I have a 9% bourbon barrel aged ale on my hands. Better let it warm up a little......
Ok, into a tulip. Very dark mahogany brown beer with a thin cream head. A little lacing. Nose is some vanilla and a lot of bourbon. Full bodied with a slight zinginess. Woody and malty with some great sweet bourbon notes on the way through. Finish has some obvious alcohol, raisins and a lingering fresh herbal note. Really good late night sipper.

Bottle, 11C. Very dark brown with a beige head that's soon a coat. Aroma of Bourbon, grapes and raisins, tobacco, chocolate, nuts. The Bourbon is more prominent on palate but still not quite dominant with marzipan, grapes, brioche. Medium bodied (pretty light, considering) with carbonation that's on the low side of medium. Bitterness takes a while to register and it accompanied by light spices (vanilla, pepper) and a little warmth. Not 100% my sort of thing but thoroughly enjoyable. [3.8][5/18] Yipe. Hollowed out. Now seems like very ordinary spirits mixed with 1/3 ginger ale and 2/3 the new owners' post mix. Leaving score for what it was, now I dunno, 2ish.

Bottle 330ml. Hazy amber colour. Thin ecru colour head. Good lacing. Aroma is malty, delicate sweet with a lot of hops with tropical fruits notes. First sip and I feel medium malty body, delicate sweet, smooth with toast character. But after few sips this malty sweetnes in good balanced by medium, citrus-herbal bitterness. Beer is quite light, refreshing, I can say average IPA but I expected more power of hops and the beer has rather malty than hoppy character.

Bottle 330ml. Clear amber colour with small white-grey head. Aroma is mix of resin, tropical fruit and citrus notes, intense, aggressive with delicate malty note behind. Definitely resin bitterness, medium to high, intense but short in time with delicate sweet finish. Medium bodied with nice malty, a little bit toast note. Realy good, drinkable IPA where pine rules, aggressive but smooth at the same time. I'm glad to had opportunity to taste this beer.

Tap (The Catfish, Melbourne). Dark amber colour with beige nice head. Dark fruits, hint of caramel in aroma. Malty, medium sweet with subtle note of vanilla behind. Full body, very smooth, really good balanced with completely hidden booze. Really nice.
