Description
The Lumberbeard Brewing story isn’t a complicated one. It is much like the way we like our beers: simple, straightforward, yet full of creative adventure.
Bret, our president and head brewer, fell in love with beer and the craft of brewing at the appropriate age of 21. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in economics, he pursued a sensible job in the finance world. It didn’t take long for him to realize that being at a desk was not for him and he wanted to become a professional brewer. That passion led him and his family to California where he went back to school to earn a Professional Brewing Certificate at University of San Diego. He swore he would never go back to school, but beer will make you do some crazy things. From there, Bret worked as a professional brewer for several years before taking the leap to open his own brewery in Spokane.
Lumberbeard Brewing was founded in 2018 and we are so excited to have you along for this crazy journey. We are committed to making excellent beers and desire to create a community where everyone feels welcome, cared for, and can find a beer they love!

16 oz. can, pours a clear blonde with a medium white head. Aroma is full of woody, piney hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour has a wonderful woody piney hop character, a touch of citrus, and a dry, doughy, bready malt base. Woody, dry, piney -- what a great expression of the Chinook. Excellent.

473mL can. Pours almost clear pale blonde with white head. Aroma has a really nice dry, woody, pine, some dankness. Flavour also has a ton of woody pine, a bit of dankness. This is fantastic Chinook expression, excellent.

Bright gold, with a thin head. The aroma has a nice minty, Chinooky hop profile, with honeyish malts. It's bitter, some dankish hop, woody, with a clean pale malt. This is excellent, especially that hop character.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with a smear of bubbles. Aroma of bourbon with something that could be nuts. Med body. Flavor is bourbon/vanilla with amberish toffee and something that could be nuts. Sort of buttery. There's a chocolate note too. Not dry, but short of sticky. Not bitter, but some heat makes up for that. All in all it's a fairly good flavor.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with a slight creamy tan head that did not persist. Aroma is mixed toffee and bourbon. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is dark toffee, bourbon and some small amounts of dark fruits and chocolate. Not dry but far from sticky. Not exactly bitter. The heat has to do the hop's work. Way to easy to drink for the ABV.

On tap at Chuck's Hop Shop - Greenwood, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is dank, with plenty of pot-like hops, some pine, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is somewhat dank, with bitter piney hops, somewhat harsh dankness, and crisp biscuity malt. A touch harsh and overly bitter but well-made. Solid.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Clear golden pour, fizzy head . Light, citrusy aroma. Taste brings more faint citrus, zesty notes, biscuity malts. Way too easy to drink, tasty AF. Refreshing too, classic Pils bite creeps in at the end

Can from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with a slight tan head. Aroma of bourbon, yeast/spice and rather surprisingly - chocolate. Full bodied. Not dry, but not sticky. Heat is hardly noticeable. Very fruity with yeast/spice and dark malt. Toffee more or less. Heavy duty ale for sure.
