Bret, our president and head brewer, fell in love with beer and the craft of brewing at the appropriate age of 21. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in economics, he pursued a sensible job in the finance world. It didn’t take long for him to realize that being at a desk was not for him and he wanted to become a professional brewer. That passion led him and his family to California where he went back to school to earn a Professional Brewing Certificate at University of San Diego. He swore he would never go back to school, but beer will make you do some crazy things. From there, Bret worked as a professional brewer for several years before taking the leap to open his own brewery in Spokane.
Lumberbeard Brewing was founded in 2018 and we are so excited to have you along for this crazy journey. We are committed to making excellent beers and desire to create a community where everyone feels welcome, cared for, and can find a beer they love!

16 oz. can, pours an opaque dark rusted red with a small beige head. Aroma has some funky whiskey barrels, dark red fruits, and a strange underlying almost fungal note. Flavour is very malty, with lots of bready caramel, dark dried fruits and some whiskey barrels. As it warms, the weirdness dissipates. Nice malts and barrels. Very good.

Ugly, medium amber. No head. The aroma has some rye chewiness, and lots of malt. Smells very American, so I imagine there's a bunch of hops in here as well. On the palate, some sugars. Not necessarily complex, but it's interesting. Light fruitiness. Not picking up much triticale character.

Poured from 473mL can. Hazed orangey medium brown with minimal off white head. Caramel malt, some dark fruits, let it warm up, mild whiskey with feint oak. Enjoyable.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a huge dark tan head that mimiced a Guinness pour. Aroma is rathe smoresish with some bourbon. Very full bodied. Very sweet in a syrupy way. Heat is detectible. Not very bitter. Flavor is lots of chocolate, some marshmallow, and bourbon. Not really getting PB. Flavors are "firm", but not "strong".

Can shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours a murky brown with an amber hue and a no head whatsoever. Aroma has a nice bourbon and caramel combination with toffee and a bit of sweet bread supporting. Flavor has toffee and bread with a growing bourbon with a bit of caramel in the finish.

16 oz can. Aroma has notes of toffee, macadamia nuts, vanilla, wood, bourbon. Taste is highly sweet with light bitterness around the edges. Flavors like the aroma descriptors. Delicious but rich.
