Canned. Clear pale golden, brief head. Yellow plum aroma. Sweet with notes of syrup and canteloupe. Alcohol is decidedly there, but doesn’t get too much in my face. Medium bodied and completely without bitterness. It is clear that sugar is heavily used to downplay the role of alcohol, but in the finish vodka comes through anyway, and it doesn’t get much netter as it warms. Oh well - will do it’s job I guess.

Canned, brewed by Al Ahram in Egypt (0.0%). Very pale yellow fizzy looking with brief head. Raisiny wort aroma with some black currant. Sweet, thin and metallic wit hnotes of saccharine and sourdough. Finishes with some blood, but no bitterness. Mediocre but drinkable N/A.

Bottle. Slightly hazy orange-golden color with a medium white head. Grainy aroma with notes of alcohol. Sweet flavor with strong alcohol taste that’s getting stronger in the finish. After the first few alcoholic-shocking sips it gets a bit easier to drink (I still don’t think I’ll be able to finish it though). Light-bodied. Rather crappy but I’ve had a lot worse. Thanks David for bringing me this beer from Egypt.

Golden color, small white head. Malts and corn (or rice) in the nose. Watery, sweet corn-malty flavor. Quite flat mouthfeel. Much better than domestic Stella, which I had in Cairo in 1995 ... but it doesn’t mean that this is a good beer.

Clear yellow color, short frothy head. Aroma of grass, some hop, hay, some malt. Bit dry grassy taste. Typical mediterranean pale lager. Not bad when it’s hot outside.
