Industrial pale lager made in the U.K. primarily for the many Indian restaurants there; strange I never rated this beer before, as in continental Europe too, it is a familiar sight on the menus of Indian restaurants (which is also where I sampled a bottle). Snow white, thickly moussy, stable, membrane-lacing head on a crystal clear pure and deep golden blonde beer. Aroma of wallpaper glue, unsweetened popcorn, breakfast cereals, vague notes of grass and iron, cotton cloth. Sweetish graininess in the mouth, clean with very fizzy, even numbing carbonation adding minerality; thin, smooth cereally middle with popcorn-like associations as well as a faint metallic edge. Does develop a bit of grassy bitterness in the finish, even more so than is averagely the case in standard pale lager, but it feels a tad ‘chemical’ too. Not the worst in this particular, broad segment for me, but it has only that bitterish touch to thank for it.

Appearance: clear gold with a large white creamy head of perfect retention. Aroma: faint grain, fruity hints. Taste: light sweet, light to medium bitter. Grain, wormwood and grass. Mouth feel: light to medium body, average to lively carbonation. Overall: nothing different.

75cl bottle @ Cafe Safron, Shrewsbury with the TMBB crew whilst waiting two hours for a curry. Pours clear gold, nice effervescence. Taste presents a nicely sparkling, clean refined lager character, really quite a lot more malt sweetness compared to draft, firm bitterness, nicely rounded. Decent.

Numerous pints whilst waiting two hours for our curry at Cafe Safron, Shrewsbury. Clear gold. Lightly sweet lagery aroma. Thin bodied, and fairly light lager character.. coming across more 3.5% than the stated 4%, which is common practise for this brewery. Passable, but suited the occasion.

0,33 bottle. The bottle looks pretty good, it could be a soft drink. Normal white foam formed (it didn't last long), it has a corny, industrial-beer-like smell. Rice and corn help mass production in the Asian way. Fortunately, it had noticeable hops, the corny nauseating sweetness was suppressed by the hop bitterness, which is a good point. Simple industrial drinking beer, quite impersonal. The aftertaste was plastic, quite unpleasant. This bottle is English-made, I don't think there would be such laboratory conditions in India. I would be curious to see what it would be like if I bought one there in a "convenience store".

Komlót azért szerencsére kapott érezhetően, a kukoricás émelyítő édességet elnyomta a komlókeserű, ami jó pont.

Bottle @ Mother India, Kristiansand. Clear, pale, straw golden body with a white head. Weak aroma, some grain and hint of sweet worth. Not much flavor in taste either, sweet corn, white bread low to almost no bitterness. Thin body and short aftertaste. Not all bad, kind of doing the trick when drinking to hot and spicy curry dishes, but so do also water.
