Description
The Brauhaus Gusswerk is an innovative symbiosis of a beer bar and a brewery, a place for enjoyment, communication and cosiness. The initiator of this unique project is Salzburg's Reinhold Barta, passionate brewer. After more than ten years of organic brewing experience he realized his organic brewery in Salzburg's “Gusswerk” in 2007. Reinhold Barta's goal is to make sustainable and biodynamic beer in Austria socially acceptable. When he saw the plans of the "Gusswerk", he immediately knew: "This is where my brewery belongs." The beer should be drawn from the strength of its origin, of course with purely organic ingredients and old, natural manufacturing processes that reflect the circle of nature.

Bottle, bought and consumed at the Wien Rathaus Christkindlmarkt. Caramel, spruce, cloves, toast, and mild vanilla. Sweet and sugary, with a mild, grassy bitterness. Light, crisp, and clean. Solid.

On tap at Tribaun. Pours black, with a medium, foamy, tan head. The nose is dark chocolate, musty leather, anise, and charred oak. Dry and malty, with a mellow, earthy bitterness. Medium body, chalky, and clean. Easy, solid, dry stout.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Gluten Free. Hazed orangey golden colour, white foam head and aroma of fruity yeast, hops. Taste is sweetish, malt, grains, wheaty, with yeasty, banana hint, fruity notes and some earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying tangy bitter finish. Quite OK.

21/10/2023. Bottle shared at EBGP. From Marek. Pours clear dark golden amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma is sweet, grainy, malty, veggie. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Quite fizzy. Okay.

Bottle 33 cl. Comes as Gusswerk Glutenfrei Lager. Made with barley, rice and maize - not sure why this qualifies as a Specialty Grain. Pours an almost clear amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Malty, slightly toffeeish nose. Medium body, slightly caramellish malt with a hint of tartness. Quite some bittering hops. 200923

0.33 bottle. A label reminiscent of raspberry beer, a very attractive, amber-colored - but not red - unfiltered ale under a nice cap. The head is serious, hard, slightly off-white, long-lasting, nice. Aroma - malty, slightly caramel, sweet, slightly fruity, delicious. The beer is quite watery. Caramel malty, bittersweet. There is also some sour taste. Bitterness okay. The whole beer is okay.

Málnasörre emlékeztető címke, szép kupak alatt nagyon tetszetős, borostyán színű-de nem vörös- szuretlen ale. Habja komoly, kemény, picit piszkosfehér, tartós, szép. Illata- malátás, picit karamelles, édeskés, picit gyümölcsös, finom. A sör elég vizes. Karamelles malátás, keserédes. Mellette valami savanykás íz is előjön. Keserűség rendben. Az egész sör rendben.

Trüb bernsteinfarben mit weißer Schaumkrone. Prägnant süßer, an Whisky erinnernder, torfiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, torfig mit alkoholischer Whiskeynote. Hohe Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, voller Körper mit sanfter Kohlensäure.
