Taster at Republic. Medium amber. Aroma is resinous, piney. Taste is also pretty hop forward, a nice malty base underneath. Pine, juniper. Sharp, biting. Sticky.

On tap at Pryes, pours a murky dark amber brown with a small beige head. Nose is loaded with brandy barrels, alcohol and caramel malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with dark dried fruits, brandy barrels, and some alcohol. Boozy and sweet, but it works well.

On tap at Pryes, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is loaded with heavy bourbon barrel notes upfront, followed by vanilla and light roast. Flavour is absolutely decadent and intense, with heaps of bourbon barrel dominating upfront, followed by vanilla and light roast. The bourbon steals the show, and, while it does increase the ABV, it smoothens out some of the roughness in the base beer. Excellent.

On tap at Pryes, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out intense roasted malt, some chalk, a little cocoa and booze. Flavour is intense, with heaps of roasted malt, alcohol, chalk, and burnt coffee. The roast is absolutely intense, packing more than in a 24-pack of your average beer. It's a bit chaotic and harsh, but is drinkable in tiny amounts.

On tap at Pryes, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral hops, biscuity malt, and some earthy notes. Flavour is a bit sweaty, with grainy notes, earthy hops, and BO. Doesn't taste fresh hopped at all. Lame.

On tap at Pryes, pours a clear copper golden with a small off-white head. Aroma is loaded with tart pineapple and a light rotting character. Flavour is unpleasant, with rotting pineapple, light tartness and artificial sweetness. This isn't working right together. Poor.

On tap at Pryes, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh raspberries, with some lacto and a hint acidity. Flavour is along the same lines, with bright raspberries upfront, followed by lacto, and a touch of acidity. Bright and refreshingly tart. Good stuff.

On tap at Pryes, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out the blood oranges clearly, with citrus hops in back. Flavour is along the same lines, with heaps of blood oranges upfront, followed by bittering piney hops. Nice incorporation of the oranges. I prefer this to the base beer.

On tap at Pryes, pours a hazy copper orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out piney hops, with some herbal/vegetal notes and bready malt. Flavour is high on the herbal hops upfront, with a vegetal character, followed by light pine, and dry bready malt. Too herbal and vegetal for me. Not a strong house IPA.

Pours a clear, reddish-gold (copper?) with smallish head. Aroma is sharp and full of pine/spruce hoppiness, some grass. Flavor follows, with a light sweetness, but primarily sharp, piney hops. Perhaps a touch of citrus, too, but very muted.
